1950. In the late 1930's Heck at the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam was immense popular. The secret of success was that the food was relatively inexpensive and that clients could listen to live music all day long. It was also a popular dating place. Singer and trumpeter Nat Conella scored with his hit “Oh Monah” at Heck and the band Malando Orchestra performed the world hit “Olé Guapa” there many times. Heck closed in 1964. #amsterdam #1950 #rembrandtplein #heck
