If you want to grow your own herbs, rosemary is a great choice. This beautiful evergreen bush hedge not only smells good, it also gets tiny blue flowers. Rosemary can be grown in a pot or the garden, both indoors or outdoors. Learn all about how to grow it in this detailed rosemary plant care guide. Includes everything from soil to planting, watering, fertilizing, pests, pruning, sunlight, propagation tips (either from seed or from cuttings), harvesting, and much more!
Improve the soil with 1/3 aged compost or and 1/3 landscape sand to improve drainage. Alternatively, plant directly into the ground in an area where you don’t mind it spreading. Consider burying some metal flashing or landscape edging 8 inches deep around the plant to prevent it from taking over. Mint can make a useful ground cover and some varieties will tolerate a little foot traffic. Mulch pots and in-ground plants with a 2-inch layer of straw to retain moisture and keep weeds in check.
