Blanton's Gold Bourbon Review
Blanton’s Gold is a higher proofed version of Blanton’s that is only available in International markets and duty-free outlets (if you are lucky). Truth be told, Blanton’s is my favorite higher end bourbon and pretty much my standard when trying something new. Not necessarily on taste and flavor profile but more along the lines of value and bang for my buck.
Blanton's Gold-The rich taste of dark fudge, citrus, oak and cream combined with the spiciness of white pepper and rye lead to a long finish that challenges the world’s finest single malts and rarest cognacs in complexity and character. Best served neat or with a splash of water. Bottled at 51.5% alcohol by volume.
Blanton's Single Barrel 93 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a winner of five gold medals in international spirits competitions. The nose is very deep with a taste that has a masterful start with powerful dry vanilla notes, hints of honey and strong caramel. The long, creamy caramel holds until some late soft peppers arrive. The underlying dryness amid the spice and honey makes for bourbon that should suit all tastes.
