59 pictures of life in Sherwood over the last 100 years

Sherwood has a bustling shopping area with restaurants and pubs with busy roads, especially Mansfield Road. Here you can step back in time and see how it looked in years gone by. In this gallery we feature Mansfield Road with little traffic, looking rather quiet with just the odd car or two in the 1950s and trolley buses in 1912. The Sherwood Branch Library opened in 1957 and Winchester Street Flats can be seen in 1965. Fine Fare supermarket was on Mansfield Road in 1966.
