Venetian construction workers, looking for a low-cost way to surface terraces, set broken bits of marble into clay, and then ground down the resulting surface with stones until it was smooth. The name they gave this finish — terrazzo — is also the Italian word for terrace. It's coming back to the home and we're loving this colorful trend.

The time to reflect on the fantastic wonders, brilliant innovations and breathtaking dreams-come-to-life that made up the lifeblood of Milan Design Week 2017 (MDW17) has come! And, as has always been the case, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile was so chock-full of a record-breaking number of experiences that we're still awestruck at the sheer scope of it all.

The time to reflect on the fantastic wonders, brilliant innovations and breathtaking dreams-come-to-life that made up the lifeblood of Milan Design Week 2017 (MDW17) has come! And, as has always been the case, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile was so chock-full of a record-breaking number of experiences that we're still awestruck at the sheer scope of it all.

During Milan Design Week 2017 at its Via Pontaccio showroom, MOROSO presented the work "SOS" - Save Our Souls by 16-year-old young artist Achilleas Souras. A socially powerful installation assembled from hundreds of life jackets retrieved from the many thousands left on the shores of Lesbos Island by arriving migrants.   Photo by Alessandro Paderni.
