Burning City (1926). Gerardo Dottori (1884-1997) was an Italian Futurist painter. who signed the Futurist Manifesto of Aeropainting in 1929. Joined the Futurist movement in 1913 but only began to work in a fully Futurist style from 1914, producing landscapes & abstract compositions of rhythmical forms influenced by Balla & Boccioni. From c.1920 became preoccupied with the theme of landscape viewed from high above and distorted by the effects of speed, as if seen from an aeroplane.
