Screw inexpensive hooks into studs at an angle for things like electrical cords. Use other inexpensive hooks for ladders, etc... No need to buy specific organizers.

To keep my jewerly organized, I used peg board, with a 1x1 board on the back and painted it the same color as the wall. I put tea cup hooks around the outside for broaches and peg board hooks for necklaces & bracelets.  Since it is located behind a door, I put a door stop on the board.
