Camping party!  I would have LOVED this as a kid, but I'm gonna do it now!!

Buy a couple of roller shades from the store, decorate them, install under the kitchen table, and now the kids have a fort during the day :) When company comes over, just roll the shades up and no one will know the difference.

A DIY under-the-table playhouse made using roller shades–great idea for kiddos or just me. Get washable roller shades so kids can design their house/fort for the day, then wash off when finished.
