The author does a different activity each day, Monday-Friday, to help the new vocabulary students are learning stick in their memory and be more meaningful. Since her activities only cover 5 new words per week, they could be especially well-suited to use with ELLs, who should not be overwhelmed with lots of new vocabulary in a short period of time.
