Erasmiaans gymnasium (high school) Attended this school to be taught classic Latin and Greek, quite elite and mainly a school for children of the happy few instead of the poor environment in where i grew up. Not the most happiest of times those days, but it had probably to do with my coming of age, which i found quite disturbing for several years.
Hofplein Important traffic point in the inner center. My oldest memories of Rotterdam go back to this place, because as a kid i slept in the Hilton Hotel overlooking the Hofplein. Place can be very crowded during summer festivals, Rotterdam marathon's and with Dutch soccer success.
Skyline of Rotterdam The center was completely bombed by the Nazi's in 1940 and the city was rebuild until today. Due to his many high offices and condo's also named as Manhattan aan de Maas (name of the river runs through Rotterdam)
