The Sinking of the Bismarck
Sinking of the Bismarck: taken from heavy cruiser HMS Dorsetshire on 27 May 1941, this picture shows the German battleship sinking by the stern. Dorsetshire finished her off with torpedoes once battleships HMS King George V and HMS Rodney had battered her to pieces after she had been rendered unsteerable by torpedo bomber attack.

The battle of the Denmark Strait. Bismarck follows Prinz Eugen several hours after the battle. This is the last German photograph of the Bismarck, taken shortly before the detachment of the Prinz Eugen at 1814 on 24 May 1941. Prinz Eugen has now reloaded the depth charge launcher
