Bobby Panknin, a 4-year-old Spokane boy, disappeared without a trace on Aug. 3, 1963, while on a family camping trip to Deep Lake Resort near Northport, Wash. His mother carried this photo with her until she died in December 1998. Despite a massive search, no one knows whether the 2-foot-8, 30-pound boy was abducted or - more likely - taken by a bear or a cougar.
On July 24, 1991, Ben Needham was in the care of his grandparents, while his mum Kerry and her boyfriend Simon went shopping. The family were on holiday from Sheffield, England, to the Greek Island of Kos to visit Kerry’s parents who had emigrated there. According to his grandmother, Ben was playing by the front door of their recently renovated farmhouse, when she took her eyes off him for just a brief moment. However, in that time, Ben had vanished never to be seen again.
