Lilly's first painting experience

As many of you know, I am a big supporter of sensory play for little ones. A friend of mine did some cute little paintings with her bubba which inspired me to paint with Lilly too! I headed to the $2 shop and grabbed some bright, non-toxic paint (just in case) and some canvases. When we got home, I put an old sheet on the floor and dabbed some paint onto the canvas. Next I wrapped some cling wrap around it and popped Lilly down for some painting fun. She loved smooshing the paint with her…

Coins in a Water Jar

Here is a very simple activity that engages children of all ages. Instead of practicing putting coins or buttons in a bank, try putting them in a clear container with water in it. It is mesmerizing and pretty to watch them float to the bottom. Lightweight, colorful buttons were fun to watch. Fake coins were interesting because some didn't always sink. We moved on to then checking whether items would sink or float. We found small items that could fit through the slot i.e. beads, coins…

Bubble Wrap Run: Simple Indoor Fun!

We had a package arrive that included a long piece of bubble wrap so on this chilly winter's day and after being cooped up inside with colds for a week, I knew exactly what to do with that bubble wrap! I taped it on the floor in the long hallway for a Bubble Wrap Run to encourage Gross Motor Skills and Large Movement! Both boys had so much fun with this all day long! Not only was it just fun to walk/run across, but we played this game where we had to walk as softly and gently as we…
