Geometry Unit and Symmetry Activity
I really wish that I would have taken more pictures throughout our geometry unit. There are so many creative ideas out there to help solidify these concepts for kids. Here you will find our selection of Symmetry Activities for kids. There are a range of symmetry worksheets to help children master reflecting or flipping a shape.
The top half is done with color pencils. I had the kids do a directed draw of the penguin and they chose their own background. The bottom half they did the second class period. The hardest thing for them to draw the reflection was understanding how it looked, like which side the beak should be on. Once they drew that they then watercolored it to create the softness of a reflection.
