Banknotes, 1982  Client: De Nederlandsche Bank   Design: Ootje Oxenaar    From 1966 through 1985, Robert Deodaat Emile (Ootje) Oxenaar (1929) worked for the Dutch Central Bank. The lighthouse refers to the long coastline of The Netherlands and the pivotal role shipping has played in the country’s history. In the lighthouse design one can read the names of two friends of Oxenaar’s granddaughters. The watermark shows his girlfriend’s rabbit.
