In Greenpoint, HBO recreated the famous boardwalk - initially created to keep sand out of hotel lobbies - where visitors could find any sort of sin they were looking out for, from women to casinos to clubs. Luxurious hotels, easy access via railroad and most importantly lax enforcement of Prohibition and vice laws made Atlantic City a popular destination.
