I am happy to be finished with my report cards and decided I needed to get to work on my Visual Plans for the week. It was much easier this week plugging in all of my activities! For my Daily 5 rotations I added some new writing prompts to my center from Stephanie at Falling Into First. I think my kids will really enjoy them. For Writers Workshop I…

Using Four Square to Work on Writing Prompts

We are gearing up for the Virginia Standards of Learning Test, and I thought I'd share an idea that is helping my students at least have exposure to all of the possible writing prompts our state will choose from. INSTRUCTION: The four square writing method I found to be very effective for teaching writing processes and strategies because it allows children to see the relationship between the main idea but also supporting points in paragraph writing.
