Kindergarten - Names
Name graph. Math and Literacy combined activity. As children grow developmentally can do same activity with last names. Great for learning about graphing! You could definitely adapt for each grade level depending upon the skill being used (i.e. you could have 4th or 5th graders create line plots, pie charts, etc.)
Name Rocks - Make these fun name rocks for your students to use in a writing center! Students will have a perfect model of who to write their name on one side and can illustrate the other side! Simply Kinder shares how we made them, what we learned doing them with first graders, and free printables to use them in centers!
The Best Part of Me Project. Read the book "The Best Part of Me." Have students pick their favorite body part and write a descriptive paragraph or poem. No guidelines, no rubric. Take a black and white photo and zoom in on their part. Place writing piece and photo on black and white scrapbook paper. Perfect for a bulletin board!
