Iznik pottery mosque lamp, Ottoman, c.1549. Found in Jerusalem in the 19th c. Underglaze decoration and three bands of inscriptions. The inscription on the base includes the name of the artist "the poor and humble Musli",the place of production and the date of manufacture. In the 1530-40s Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent ordered the refurbishment of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Collection British Museum, London.
