Music Time Bin
My daughter loves music. She is always singing and dancing around our home. I knew I would have to add a special music time into our preschool schedule. Here are some tools I have created to have a simple music time bin. I let each child choose from my music cards. These cards are just simple songs that most children know. I colored, cut, backed them in colored construction paper, cut them out again and then laminated them. A few of these songs have finger movements, but for those who don't…
Adventures with Activity Days: Part 2 of 2
This post is the second of a 2-part series describing ways to bring Primary music into a weekday Activity Days meeting. Read part 1 here, about memorizing the Articles of Faith. Tracing conducting patterns I love that Activity Days gives our girls the chance to learn how to conduct music. If you think about it, women and girls in our church have a ton of opportunities to lead music, so it makes sense to help our girls learn this skill. I've been invited into Activity Days a couple different…
Primary Singing Time Binder - Staying Organized!
When I first got started as a Primary music leader, I would fumble through the songbook, even with the little paper tabs, trying to make my way to the different songs. I was a mess
Road Trip Review - Singing Time Ideas | LDS | Camille's Primary Ideas
I created a “Road Trip Review” to help our primary prepare for our program this year…I’m really excited about how it turned out! Getting ready for our program is just like taking a journey. There is lots of planning and preparation involved before we reach our final destination. But if we are willing to work … Road Trip Review Read More »
More Family Stick Puppets
One thing my new little Sunbeams like to do is hold things while we sing. And one of their favorite songs is 'A Happy Family'. I had some cute family stick puppets HERE, but not enough for all my Sunbeams. So I made a few more to add to my collection. These are also great for story telling in FHE or Primary lessons. Click HERE to download More Family Stick Puppets. ENJOY!!
Trick - Treat - Share Music Idea
This is a fun Halloween Music idea. Place in a basket/bucket TRICK - TREAT or SHARE cards. Allow a child to come and pick a card from the basket. If they pull a TRICK CARD they will have to do a Music Trick. The music tricks I placed on the cards were to line up all of the Latter Day Prophet photos in order and then sing the song, line up all of the Book of Mormon books in order and then sing the Books of the Book of Mormon song, and my favorite was to have the children sing Head, Shoulders…
The Great thing about my Mom
The great thing about my mom is that she is always sending me ideas that they are doing in their primary. (Of course, there are lots of great things about her). This week we have all but two birds in the nest, and the Sr. Primary have just six marbles before the jar is full. We reviewed the program songs and had a great time, but this idea was lots more fun. Sister Webb reviewing a song using a balloon. The children sing the song. She says the words and pauses and they say what comes next…
Tiempo de Música 2014 | Construir un Templo - Conexión SUD
From the primary chorister group on Facebook: build a temple all year. Learn a song, add a piece to the temple throughout the year. So cool!
Battleship for Primary
I'm the Primary Chorister in my ward (a congregation). I think it's a blast! There are tons of awesome blogs to read for fun and creative ideas to teach the songs. Today I chose to do Battleship. I got the idea from a blog called, "Diving Secrets of a Primary Chorister". Here is what my board looked like. It's not as good as I hoped, but it will do. I used Tempra paint, but I guess I should have tried poster paint or something. Then, my loving husband Brian, helped me make the game pieces…
Primary Music Idea - Praise to the Man
"I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other - This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" (Joseph Smith - History 1:17) I am so excited that this month our Primary Children will be learning more about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This song was not an easy one to come up with a teaching idea for. I decided that some of the lyrics were larger words…
