Though this design looks cool, in reality I don't think it would draw a lot of buyers. The product is well below eye level, and I think it would literally get looked over as people walk by.
This space is way too crowded. Shops like this stress me out, and I would avoid going there if I could. Removing the rugs, half the pillows and a lot of product would do this space a world of good.
I like this space for the most part. The plants from the display table make it seem crowded, and since I doubt they're even for sale, they should be removed from the table.

This is a great commercial space. The white desk pinpoints it as the focal point and draws customers to it. The dark colors make it feel classy and nice as well.
This could’ve been a really great space, but the low ceiling makes it feel like you might have to duck. Other than that the space is designed well and is consumer friendly.
This is a pretty good commercial design. The bright lighting makes the space a warm, inviting area, and the bright colors enhances that feeling.

Visual Research #9: Commercial Design

I love how dramatic this lighting it. Even though there are two big chandeliers, they don't give off a lot of light and the space, overall, is pretty dark. The other lamps and light sources, like the fireplace, add the contrast in the room and make it feel cozy.
I love the lighting in this space. The bubble lights give the space some interest as well as provide light. The overhead chandelier gives the ceiling perceived texture, and the lights in the shower highlight it as a focal point.
This room is a very bright space. The big windows lend a lot of light to the room and having low couches lets in as much light as possible.

Visual Research #8: Actual Light

20 Pins
This room has a good balance between colors and surfaces. The white walls are sure to make the room feel bright and warm, while the blue furniture absorbs some light and keeps it from getting too bright. There aren't many reflective surfaces, but the walls are enough to keep the room light.
I love this bathroom. The bright, white tile on the wall and floor make it look lighter and clean. The mirror also reflects light and makes the space brighter as well.
This room has a lot reflective surfaces. It looks great when the sun is low, but when the sun comes in through the windows, I think there are too many surfaces that allow light to bounce around and the room would be way too bright.

Visual Research #8: Implied Lighting

This is a split complimentary design. The blue wall and green plant work really well with the orange couch and overall the space looks cozy and welcoming.
This is an analogous color scheme and works really well together. It makes the space feel expensive and luxurious.
This is a triadic color scheme. Orange, purple and green should NOT be used together EVER!

Visual Research #7: Color Harmony

20 Pins
I love gold used in designs. As an accent it makes a space feel more expensive, and I love visiting homes that use gold throughout the house.
This is a high chroma, dark value and red-hued color. I love this wine color, and seeing it in a space is amazing. I know a couple of homes that use this color for a wall and I love the classiness and opulence that it brings into a space.
This is a medium chroma and value, and brown-hued color. I like this warm, chocolatey brown, as opposed to others, and love seeing wood in a space with this color stain.

Visual Research #7: Color

The pillows, blanket and rug are all adding soft textures into this room, while the couch and fireplace add harder textures.
I can't quite tell what this wall is made of, but either way it definitely will be the most interesting part of any room its in. The wall appears to be woven and makes it very appealing to look at.
This wall adds a lot of visual interest to the space. The use of semi-dramatic lighting enhances it's characteristics and really makes the wall pop.

Visual Research #6: Texture

I really like this fireplace. The gray on white makes for a really nice pattern and still allows the middle of the fireplace to be the focal point.
I love the pattern on this wall. The dark grout next to the red brick makes for a really nice background. The changing directions of the brick also adds really nice flow as well.
I love the subtle pattern in the floor here. It leads the eye down the hallway and makes the space feel bigger.

Visual Research #5: Pattern

20 Pins
This room is symmetrical, yet it feels informal and inviting. The soft textures on the pillows and chairs, as well as the curved lines of the lamps and chandelier create a cozy feel.
This room feels very formal. The black and white contrast added to the perfect symmetry creates a pristine feel.
This room is very symmetrical and very formal. The use of metals, glass and light colors makes the room feel like it's not lived in.

Visual Research #4: Symmetry

20 Pins
The asymmetry in this room works really well. The bed and desk are on opposite sides and work nicely to balance each other out. The decor add visual weight to the walls and ceiling and make the room very even.
I really like the asymmetry in this room. The painting gives visual weight above so the room isn't bottom heavy, and the couch counters the dark space on the left to make the whole room look even and balanced.
I love this space. The visual weight of the black chair is balanced with the bookshelf. The whole room is very even and nice to look at.

Visual Research #4: Asymmetry

20 Pins
This bathroom is great. The window provides a lot of natural light and makes the room feel open and clean. The flowers add femininity and freshness, and the accents on the shelves make the room feel lived in.
I like that these shelves are fairly empty. It gives a lot of space for the customer to work with and be creative with. The vase on the floor seems like a bad idea though.
The red in this design seems a bit bold, but the pillows can be replaced with a more muted color as the customer wants. The table on the floor is interesting and wouldn’t be a great idea to show to anyone expecting young kids over.

Visual Research #3: Decorative Accents and Staging

20 Pins
This design uses warm browns and reds to create harmony. The use of plants throughout the entire room adds a level of harmony to the design as well.
This room is very harmonious. The white, pink and gray colors are all so close in value that there isn't much contrast in the room. The texture of the blanket, pillow and headboard are also very soft and similar which adds a layer of harmony as well.
The similarity in shapes and colors in this room is what creates harmony. The round mirror and bean bags, and the use of light colors all add to the design.

Visual Research #2: Harmony

20 Pins
Here the teal booths contrast the pink walls. The round mirrors and lights also contrast the straight lines of the couches and add contrast.
The blue in this design adds a nice level of contrast. It pops against the white walls and ceiling.
The use of orange against the blue creates great contrast. Also the different values add to the contrast in the design.

Visual Research #2: Contrast

In this design the pink backsplash is the focal point. The use of color draws the eye, and the pattern of the tiles keeps the eye focused there.
Here, the eye moves between the different light sources. It jumps form the candles, to the cafe lights and back to the candles.
In this design the mirror behind the bathtub is the focal point. The texture of the panels gives the eye something to look at, and because it's shiny it also catches the eye.
