Though some video games serve to remediate film, The Mario Party series served to remediate board games. The whole presentation and gaming experience of Mario Party models that of a board game, inclusive of a dice rolling element, moving spaces, and inviting many people to enjoy the game. It doesn't necessarily make physical board games obsolete, as it merely provides that same media representation in a different platform.
