A man's embroidered nightcap cut from a single piece of linen with four shaped quarters and a turned-back brim. The brim is trimmed with silver-gilt bobbin lace hung with spangles (1.3 cm deep). Embroidered with silver and good quality silver-gilt thread in plaited braid, double ladder, interlaced ladder, chain and two forms of detached buttonhole stitch worked over padding, with raised knots and spangles.  1601 AD - 1625 AD  Museum of London Prints Image #011361  Not in online collection
