Samwise Gamgee is one of the most under-appreciated characters. His steadfast loyalty to a friend who treated him awful at points is beyond incredible. Sam is probably one of my favorite Tolkien characters

I do not think I have ever cried so hard over one line as this one in the book, The Lord of the Rings. I nearly threw it for upsetting my cool so badly. Oh, Sam Gamgee.

Things I love about the LOTR. Just like a good hobbit, thinking about his stomach :D

And it was unintentional in LOTR but Peter loved it and put it in the movie and then also included a similar scene in the Hobbit :)

The funny thing was that it wasn't in the script - Ian just played it out so well that PJ decided to keep it in!

There were only three things in there I didn't know about. The Hobbiton set one,  the one with Sam, and the one with the foam. However, I did not know Legolas's exact age or Gimli's exact age.

Neat facts about LotR. However Frodo was 50 not 33 when he left the shire but I'm glad Tolkien really felt Sam was the hero of the story.
