Room - Emma Donoghue - Wow. This was the most intese book I have ever read. Thank you for the recommendation, @Marinda de Jongh Marshall Fowler.

This book affected me the most this year. Beautiful read from a 5 year old's point of view - but rather dark.

I've sorta-kinda held off on this book because I so seldom enjoy the stories that get the biggest hype, but I DID like the movie ever so much. I'm sure I'll read it sometime this year.

The Help

The Help. It is an awesome movie and I am sure it is an awesome book. This is an amazing movie! I love it!

Something Borrowed tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl---until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiancé. Loved this book!!!!!

Favorite author at the moment, Emily Giffin, started reading her books a while ago and love that she is getting the well deserved recognition! She is wonderful!

*warning* This is a HARD book to read; There are some horrible abuse parts but this stuff really happens.

possibly my favorite book of all time! narrated by 5-year-old jack, this haunting story of what a mother will do to protect her child in even the most unbearable circumstances is heartbreaking, frightening, and in the end, utterly uplifting. i've practically made this required reading for all my friends!

This is a beautiful book and it showcases the magical relationship between mother and son. It is very powerful. The story is disturbing and hard to read but the bond is amazing. I highly recommend. It was a page turner.
