The globe is made of gilded brass, in two  halves joined at the equator; its diameter is  13 inches (33 cm), and the diameter of the  horizon ring 16 inches (41 cm). The overall  height of the globe on its stand is 34 inches  (86 cm).The base is a red marble cylinder with  profiled base ring, with a cast brass ornamental  stem. Ca. 1598
