Chief Gall of the Lakota Hunkpapa Sioux. Circa 1840-1895. His name was not given to him by a white man but via an incident involving the eating of an animal's gall bladder. He was a great chief, and military chief to Sitting Bull. He defended his people during what later became known as "Custer's Last Stand". He was later appointed a Judge of the Court of Indian Affairs in 1889 and became an envoy to Washington, DC. He refused Buffalo Bills request to become part of the Wild West Show.
