Kimono pattern

Saturday morning I went to one of the last Vintage Kimono sales held by TEXUBA, who finds old and rare kimonos in Japan and sells them to customers in the U.

Careful use of complimentary color schemes (in the Western sense) can work really well in kimono too, because the proportions are so precise they can be balanced in interesting ways.        Here a basic red and green color set is offset by little touches of orange and a lot of white in the kimono itself. The large amount of desaturated mustard-yellow makes the red look more orangey too.
