Ricky Carmichael. A record 15 MX and SX Championships (a record 10 MX and 5 SX championships). A record 150 career wins ( a record 102 MX wins and a second place with overall SX wins at 48). Only rider to have 2 perfect MX seasons. Only rider to go undefeated in the 125 SX series. 5 time AMA Rider of the Year. The GOAT: the Greatest Of All Time.

I like Giovanni Bussei. 2004 WSBK Imola Race 2. Points leader Chris Vermeulen switches to his B bike as race starts. Just into the warm-up lap, The V high-sides in dramatic fashion. It wasn't a team member who stops to assist the injured rider? No. It's Giovanni Bussei who ferries the V on the Ducati's rigid tail section back to the pits. V starts the race last from pit row and finishes a spectacular 6th and stays in the points race. Bussei's goodwill rewarded with a stop and go penalty.

After winning the WSBK title, Troy Bayliss returns to MotoGP to race the final round of 2006 in Valencia, filling in for an injured Sete Gibernau. Hayden may have won (or Rossi lost) the title, but the most memorable part for me was Bayliss winning his first MotoGP as the replacement rider for a single race. After 3 disappointing seasons in the premier class, was a nice way to cap things off.

Giacomo Agostini. Most successful world championship rider and perhaps the greatest GP rider of all time. All-time leader in GP victories with 122 wins and 15 World Championships (68 wins and 8 titles in the 500 class, rest in the 350 class). Winner of 10 Isle of Man TTs. U.S. racing debut in 1974, winning the Daytona 200. Long and illustrious racing career of 17 years, winning his final world title in 1975. Last competitive year in 1976, notching up GP wins in both the 350 and 500 classes.
