Map of the opposing armies at Drummossie Moor in 1746. The moor has its share of ghostly apparitions, befitting so much bloodshed and slaughter. The moor is so haunting that the birds do not sing in the vicinity of the grave mounds. There are two wells in close proximity to the battlefield and St. Mary's Well is said to be haunted by the ghosts of the dead highlanders. The Clootie Well is in Culloden Woods very lonely and foreboding.
