Basic Tomato Sauce - No Oil (adapted Forks Over Knives  1 med. yellow onion, chopped 4 garlic cloves 6 T. minced fresh basil  2 T. minced fresh oregano 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes 1 15-oz can tomato sauce salt, pepper   Lg saucepan, add onions; cook med-low heat 10-15 min. If onions stick, add water (~ ½ c. a T. at a time); onions should be soft. Add garlic, basil, oregano. Stir, cook 5 min. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper. Stir, cover for 30-45 min. med-low heat.
