An rare pair of George III painted satinwood armchairs in the style of English Cabinet maker, George Seddon. The chairs feature inset caned backs with center medallions, double inset caned arms and caned seats. The stunning satinwood chair frames are painted in the neoclassical style introduced by the French 18th century Peintre ébénistes. This style was copied in England by the celebrated cabinetmaking firm of, George Seddon, Sons & Shackleton of Aldersgate Street, 1753 - 1868.

While this piece is quite large, it disassembles into its three components, of which all of the pediments above each section are removable.
