Jesse Owens & Luz Long...Berlin Olympics in 1936, German gold medal favorite Luz Long offered Jesse Owens some advice after he almost failed to qualify in the long jump.  Owens went on to beat him for the gold.  It resulted in a deep friendship, until Luz was killed in WWII.
