Stay warm! This is a masonry heater built by www.kurzofen.at. The German word for these types of high-efficiency wood heaters is "kachelofen"...literally meaning "tile oven"....because they used to be covered with thermal mass and then glazed tiles. They are super efficient because the fire is super-oxygenated, allowing it to burn at about twice the temperature of a normal open fire. That excess heat is then "stored" in the thermal mass battery...in this case made with sculpted clay soil.
