William IV, King of England and of Hanover. Son of George III, brother of George IV from whom William inherited the throne. His consort was Adelaide of Saxe-Coburg, who survived him. Adelaide visited Malta and was the first member of the British royal family to do so. She helped immensely in the funding of St Paul's Anglican Cathedral in Valletta. William IV was succeeded by his niece, Victoria.

William Cavendish (1551–1625), 1st Earl of Devonshire, Aged 25, 1576, Hardwick Hall, son of the redoubtable Bess of Hardwick and William Cavendish, he was a politician and courtier.  His mother supported him in luxury when he was a young man, and after his death, and his elder brother's, he inherited vast wealth, part of which he reportedly used to buy his title.
