A Two Week-Old Eastern Bongo Calf ~ Sydneys Taronga Zoo

A two-week-old Eastern Bongo calf looks out from under her mother at Sydneys Taronga Zoo. Eastern (or Highlands) Bongos are critically endangered with as few as 75 remaining in small groups of six to 12 animals in their Kenyan upland range.

Nubian Ibex = horns. Rocky, desert mountains of No. Africa & Arabia, Egypt. Small at ~100 lbs, both male & female have horns; social, living in herds. They can jump more than 6 feet straight up from a standstill! Sharp hooves, concave undersides.  Some of the 5 species are endangered.

The Iberian Ibex or wild goat (Capra pyrenaica) is one of the species of goats from the genus Capra that exist in Europe.
