Komt uit de Savoie en Haute-Savoie, in de vallei van Abondance, Tarentaise en Maurienne  Ontwikkeld in de 17e eeuw, Tomme de Chèvre de Savoie is een vochtige, witte ongekookt geperste kaas met een bloemige blauwgrijse korst. De kaas werpt een sterke Bocksergeur met aroma's die doen denken aan fruit en hazelnoot. De kaas wordt gerijpt zeven weken alvorens te worden verkocht in de vorm van een cilinder Tometta

The terrain near Auvergne is craggy and desolate, and thus, better-suited to raising sheep than cows.
