A finely carved Gandharan schist "cosmetic tray" measuring about 11.5 cm diameter. This is usually interpreted as a banquet scene where Buddha (indicated by his aura and cranial bump) is attended by two women. He lies on what is known as a kline, a type of couch. The woman at the left has either a fan or a wreath. This scene is also sometimes interpreted as a funerary scene, although traditionally Buddha lies on his right side in Parinirvana.

There are many similarities between events in the lives of Buddha and Jesus. Buddha had a miraculous conception.
