This clay figure of a crouching lady dates back at least 1800 years ago and was found in the tomb of a royalty. The hairstyle and clothing patterns are relatively simple compared to other times of China as there are rarely any pattern or accessories. The crouching position reflects the habit of early Han people. Early Han people, especially women, rarely sit kneeling and crouching, like the Japanese, were most commonly seen from relics.
