The American Blackfeet, or Southern Pikuni, were once among the largest and most powerful northern Plains Indians. Over a very short period of time - from 1880 to 1910 - they experienced an unprecedented cultural upheaval. Driven by greed, cultural fear and hatred, the US government and aligned interests, the Pikuni lost their bison herds and with it their ability to guide their own destiny.
