Exposition Käthe Kollwitz à Vic-sur-Seille

exposition Käthe Kollwitz à Vic-sur-Seille - Skulptur Mutter mit totem Sohn / Pietà

Käthe Kollwitz, The Tower of Mothers, 1937-8, at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Two) in Edinburgh. I found this sculpture so sad. The museum had a note that the Nazis removed this piece from a show because "In the Third Reich mothers have no need to defend their children. The state does that for them." Yes, that worked out so well. Viewed July 2012.
