A complete Medieval iron purse frame . This item which dates to circa 15th century AD,was found many years ago in excavations on the thames river foreshore in London . It has a small split in the suspension loop as can be seen and one side of the frame has now become detached which happened in antiquity. The iron has been fully conserved to museum standard and is fully stable. In the 15th century this frame would have been covered with leather or fabric and hung from a waist belt .
