Another way to respond would be "Because they are." Because a lot of times characters will just create themselves and things like their race, sexuality, and gender just come naturally when writing them rather than being conscious decisions.

Please understand this. Asexual is NOT the same thing as aromantic. Aromantics aren't interested/are uncomfortable in romantic relationships at all. Asexuals are interested in romantic relationships, but not sexual ones. Which is why there are panromantic asexuals that exist.

19 Illustrations That Capture What It Means To Be Asexual

What does asexuality actually mean? Here are 19 illustrations and comics that explain what being asexual is really like for young women and men.

An interesting point on this. When I see that in media and/or stories it is treated as romantic, sexy, and funny. Not how it actually is: annoying and rude.

Yes, another reason why romantic comedies typically suck. Blatantly trivializing and promoting dismissive behavior towards another's feelings should not merit an affectionate or sexual response. <<< all these tropes just make me sick.

I didn't even know there were people who thought women not wanting to have sex/be sexy is unfeminist? I have some news for you, if you claim to be a feminist and you shame women for this, you're not a feminist. Same goes for the reverse too, if you shame women who DO want to have sex, you're also not a feminist.

Sex and romance are not the same thing.

Sex and romance are not the same thing. You can be asexual and still want romance. And you can be aromantic and still want sex.

For me when I question my sexuality it's never "am I straight or gay" Its always am I "Lesbian or Bisexual" I never question if I am into girls because I know for a fact that I love women but however I'm not sure how I feel about men :/ I am not really that attracted to them, once every blue moon I develop a crush on a guy, so maybe I am bi? It's not that often that it happens, I am not physically attracted go them. I cannot tell if I am lesbian or bisexual.<<<OMG SAME

Just to let anyone who cares know😄 I won't be able to post on weekdays for the next 4 weeks because I'm going away on this summer thing where we do out

Note: Some of the things I post on this board do NOT apply to me and/or necessarily reflect my own views.

Asexual, but not aromantic. [Note: Some asexuals are aromantic (but some aromantics are not asexual). Let's not discriminate here.

Sexual attraction or the lack of it doesn't indicate whether or not a person's body can be sexually active. Some asexuals may enjoy the act of sex and the sensations or the particular sort of intimacy it initiates and not be sexually attracted to their partner(s).

Sexual attraction or the lack of it doesn't indicate whether or not a person's body can be sexually active. It is therefore not an illness, but an orientation.
