Charlotte Helene von Schindel was a lady in waiting to the queen and a royal mistress of King Frederick IV of Denmark. In 1709, the king hoped to marry her but the church disgreed, when the King asked them if the law against bigamy should apply also to kings, assured him that it did. The King later ended the relationship and had Charlotte removed from court. When she later became involved and pregnant with another man’s child the King banished them both from Denmark.

Anne Sophie Reventlow - Mistress and second wife of Frederick IV of Denmark. They married in even though his queen was still alive. They remarried in 1721 after the queen had died. They had three children, who all died young.
