Even if darkness overtakes them, sunrise-brilliance will come bursting through because they are gracious to others, so tender and true. Ps 112:4 - We’ve covered a lot of ground the last couple of weeks! From Manoah, his wife and Samson, To Jesus and Lazarus, and further still, selfishness and generosity. Take the time to go back and read over any devotions you may have missed, or to meditate on the things that God is speaking to you about. <<CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING>>

What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for? Matt 16:25 - If I can encourage you in anything today, it would be to embrace the suffering and the discomfort of discovering your true self. Dig deep. Don’t run from the confrontation, but take Jesus with you – rather, let him lead you through. Don’t run from your life just because it’s a little hard... ~CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING~

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 - Romans 12:2 is one of the most quoted scriptures of the new Testament. Lately, I’ve seen it used to judge people (of faith) for being too worldly… But I have to say, and I say it carefully and humbly, the ironic thing about this verse... CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING

Life is good for the one who is generous and charitable… They will not live in fear or dread of what may come, for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their faith. Psalm 112:5 - The will of God has more to do with how we love than how well we “do.” It’s openness of heart and life that sets a person apart. Notice that after the Psalmist says, “life is good” he also says that “they will not live in fear or dread of what may come...” <<CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING>>

1 Peter 4:8

1 Peter 4:8

In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is, destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal. John 12:25 - “Take up your cross and follow me." I wonder if these words were playing over in the disciples hearts as they watched Jesus die. What did they mean to them? What did it awaken and evoke within them? I think it would have been a mixture of things... ~CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING~

In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is, destroys that life. John 12:25 - Well after dark, while most families slept soundly, Jesus took his friends to Gethsemane to pray. Blood fell from his brow like drops of rain from the sky. “Take this cup from me… But not my will, Father… yours be done.” He turned and found his disciples asleep - sleeping on the Night of Watching… ~CLICK THE IMAGE TO KEEP READING~
