Talland Bay, Cornwall

A circular walk along the coast from Talland Bay to Looe, passing the pilgrimage site of Looe Island which Jesus was said to have visited as a child, and returning via the ancient Giant's Hedge in Kilminorth Wood and Talland's mediaeval church.

Polperro is one of the loveliest fishing villages in Cornwall, with characterful streets of colorwashed cottages sheltered in a cliff ravine which descends to a picturesque harbor. Many of Polperro's streets are so narrow that cars are banned from the village and visitors must walk down or ride on a horse drawn carriage from the main car park above. A brook flows through the village down to the harbor. Polperro was once a thriving centre for smuggling and is still a working fishing village.

a picture postcard (fishing) village, Polperro lies 3 miles SW of Looe in Cornwall. Cars are banned from the village.

freezing reflections

This photo is a great example of symmetrical (formal) balance. The water on which the trees and bushes are reflected on give an almost perfect balance and symmetry to the photo. This draws our eyes directly to the subject but also to the reflection.
