Discover the answer to one of the most common questions I get from you! What can it be about? Well, it's the measurement of the back edge on the marble slab you see in our kitchen! Many also wonder about marble as a stone and if I would choose it again. Does marble stain? YES it does. It doesn't tolerate acid, so it's not a good idea to cut citrus fruits or spill wine. Similarly, it's sensitive to hard knocks. And YES, the first stains were difficult. The carpenters left something that made a gigantic stain even before we moved in. It annoyed me. Then, of course, stains have been added over the years. If you look in certain lights, there are traces of parties and events, desserts, when I accidentally dropped a vase, when the kids climbed up and spilled a drink. Traces of life, simply. But once the first stains are made, you let go of that. And the stains are only visible in certain lights. It's a natural material and it's lovely to bake on. I also love the natural variations in the stone. It's beautiful! It's alive and I still love it. Even more today when those first stains have already been made. Would I choose it again? YES, every time! And with that said, I'm going to put down a glass of wine (on a coaster of course 😅) and enjoy Saturday night! What are you up to tonight? (And by the way, if you scroll, you'll see what it looks like behind the window sill. Another question that many ask!)
