Magnesium & Endometriosis | Endo Tips | The Endometriosis Dietitian

Published on July 8, 2022
MAGNESIUM & ENDOMETRIOSIS // Did you know that magnesium is one of the first minerals to go when your body is inflamed or under stress? This matters because magnesium is more important than I can put into words!
    Magnesium deficiency can:
      ✨Intensify glucose intolerance
        ✨Intensify depression
          ✨Intensify cramping & clotting
✨Intensify brain fog and sleep issues
✨Prevent proper estrogen clearance (because it's key in methylation of estrogen)
✨Intensify fatigue (because low magnesium often goes hand-in-hand with low B-vitamins AND is magnesium is a VERY important mineral for proper adrenal function - the organ that produces your cortisol)
                  ✨Make vitamin D deficiency worse
✨Indicate your protein intake is insufficient (as low blood levels of taurine, an amino acid found in meat, dairy and fish, will reduce serum magnesium levels).
Have a watch of the reel today to learn about some signs/symptoms you may be low in magnesium.
➡️ The typical supplemental dose is 200mg-400mg daily.
Excessive doses may cause diarrhea and/or gastrointestinal distress, so I recommend finding the right amount and form for you!
🎉 My favourite ways to take magnesium include a topical spray, in Epsom salt baths, and as a liquid mineral drop!
Do you take magnesium? Let me know in the comments how you take it! ⬇️
