This is a beautiful earthenware handless cup and saucer manufactured by William Adams & Sons Ltd. c.1820+ in Tunstall and Stoke. The cup is in the basic “London” shape with rounded foot rim; see A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud, page 31, plate 184. It is decorated in a blue and white transfer pattern.
