Some solar eclipse photos (and movies) I took with no preparation with no setup on a cloudy day here in Tokyo, Japan.

On May 9-10, the Moon will pass directly in front of the sun over the South Pacific, producing a "ring of fire" solar eclipse. At greatest eclipse, more than 95% of the sun's surface will be covered. The Coca-Cola Space Science Center is hosting a live webcast of the event from Australia! Tune in on May 9th beginning at 5 pm EDT.

I love to gaze at the stars and yet I have never seen a shooting star. Perhaps this year I will if I catch a meteor shower. I've already missed two of these but hope to catch others. I love the sky in general: day or night because it reminds me of God's power and how small I am to the universe and so much more about God. But night is definitely my favorite to look up. :)

13 Must see stargazing events of would be fun to plan for the meteor shower in August. Let's take a trip!
